Constructed in 1892, the Maida Gym was originally an Army drill hall and gymnasium and is now home to a community gym facility. Located adjacent to Smith Dorrien House, the building continues to serve local residents as an active and well-used community space.

A comprehensive programme of repairs was undertaken to the external fabric of the building to address deterioration and improve its long-term condition. These works ensure the gym remains safe, functional, and visually prominent, allowing it to continue serving the community as a key local facility.
