Millgrove Construction are pleased to have been selected by Grainger PLC as the preferred contractor to carry out the remediation of a total of 6 areas of woodland at their exciting new Wellesley development. The area covering 110 hectares and extending from central Aldershot in the east as far as Rushmoor Common in the west consists of mixed woodland habitats which are to be opened up to the general public for their future enjoyment. Working closely with the Land Trust and Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership, Millgrove have recently completed the successful removal of known hazards including former air raid shelters, bunkers, collapsed buildings, bank stabilisation and grading works as well as waste clearance. All Millgrove operatives are trained to recognize and deal with unexploded ordnance (UXO) and to understand the correct procedure to follow should a UXO be uncovered – something that is particularly relevant when working on a former military base. The first of the woodland areas will shortly be open to coincide with the construction of the first phase of housing.
